Overview
The Mechanic Motor Vehicle trade is a Craftsman Training Scheme (CTS) trade under DGT/NCVT that combines automotive theory with hands-on workshop practice on engines, transmission, steering, suspension, braking, and vehicle electrical/electronic systems used in two-wheelers and light/heavy motor vehicles.
Eligibility
Passed Class 10 under the National/State Education system with Science and Mathematics, or its equivalent (NIOS/State Open School). Minimum age 14 years.

- Basic safety, workshop practice & trade tools
- Engine fundamentals: petrol & diesel engines
- Transmission systems: clutch, gearbox & differential
- Steering, suspension & braking systems
- Vehicle electrical systems: battery, starting & charging
- Vehicle electronics & on-board diagnostics (OBD)
- Fuel injection systems & emission norms
- Two-wheeler and light motor vehicle servicing
- Employability skills and on-the-job training (OJT)
Job Roles After Completion
Certification
National Trade Certificate (NTC) issued by NCVT/DGT on successful completion and passing the All India Trade Test (AITT).
